Hallmark Christmas movies are fungible, like Nora Roberts novels.

With all the bad things happening around us, I was glad to get some great news from the TV this morning. The Hallmark Channel is going to begin showing a whole new series of Christmas movies next week! I was getting so tired of watching the same movies over and over and over. (In case you have any doubts, I'm not being serious about watching them, but I am serious about a new series of Christmas movies about to begin.)

I think there is a big difference between Christmas and X-ma$$

From what I've heard, it's basically the same plot over and over. The settings and the names of the characters change. There was a Christmas movie shot across the Hudson River in Rhinebeck, NY. I did watch that one to see the town.

Yup! The plot is the same...here it is in a nutshell: Boy meets girl, attraction begins, looks like the relationship is going somewhere, something puts a monkey-wrench into the relationship, somehow the problem gets resolved, and in the last 1 minute of the movie they kiss, and live happily ever after.

And the "monkey wrench" is someone hears only part of a conversation and assumes the worst.

Be that as it may, I am a glutton for punishment and will watch a movie on that channel quite often.

I don't normally watch TV AT ALL, but I watched one of those not long ago and one of the characters was named Alexa! NEVER watch a move with an Alexa in it. Your Echo Dot will say "I didn't understand that" every time they call that name. At least it was funny!

Hallmark Christmas movies: one plot, various actors and settings. If you’ve seen one, you have seen them all. The only redeeming factor is the pretty ladies.

My thoughts exactly.

I’d like to be the screenwriter. Easiest job in the world.

The minute I read your title “Some good news “ I start reading it and I’m happy to see people enjoy Hallmark movies that don’t display guns and drug violence. But I know I will get some moronic responses, I use my trash file for that.

Though I have a "Leg Lamp" on top of my bedroom chest of drawers, I have had it with Jimmy Stewart and Lionel Barrymore (and, Hallmark "classics"). . .I prefer to go "outside the box" for Christmas films. . .Try this one: "Joyeux Noel". A TRUE story from World War I. . .And, "A Christmas Story" is still a "MUST SEE" in our family (And, we have photos of my daughters in their pink bunny PJ's)

They shouldn't be showing any until Christmas time. If you notice HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax will show Christmas movies at other times of the year but not at Christmas time. They want to diminish Christmas as a holiday, they are anti-Christain. Hallmark Channel does the same, except they will show Christmas movies at Christmas.

Just for the record, there are more self-declared christians that are anti-christians in the USA. And they are multiplying! They sometimes recognize the book covers without having a clue of what is inside.
