[PS - in case you didn't know....The WNBA star, Brittney Griner, a Black Lives Matter supporter, isn’t just a kneeler. She doesn’t want the national anthem played at her games and wouldn’t go on the floor during the anthem.]

If America's sport world pay women athletes what it is pay to men athletes, Brittney Griner would not be in Russia in the first place.

The salary differential is a good point (Griner makes $2m a year) but I'm not sure her salary has anything to do with her being in Russia.

Britney Griner is now on trial in Russia accused of bringing illegal drugs into the country. Will she get a fair trial: very questionable? Biden says she is being unlawfully held and tried yet offer’s no verifiable reason for those remarks that I have heard so far. Is Griner guilty or innocent: I have no idea? What I do know is we are supplying arms and ammunition to Ukraine to use against the Russian invasion which without a doubt infuriates Putin and his henchmen. Their animosity towards America right now must be at an all-time high. Griner or anybody else going to Russia these days must have a screw loose when it comes to good ole common sense. There are other Americans there who have been accused, tried and imprisoned for various crimes and have been there much longer than Griner. In my opinion she made a huge stupid mistake going there these days and has no one to blame but herself. Therefore, I feel any thoughts of prisoner exchange or anything else should be for the longer incarcerated US citizens first, before her.

How do you feel about this issue?

Since she pleaded guilty so it goes...if you can't do the time, don't dop the crime. Hopefully 10 years will help her get her head on straight. Leave her there.

Send you to Russia and sit in jail for 10 years; see if you like it.

Are you making excuses for her? She hates the US and what we stand for and has been very vocal in letting everyone know. Then when she gets in trouble she begs for help from the US. Hypocrite! In my opinion her actions show she deserves no help

Bull in America WNBA player salary cap is $228,000.
In Russian her contract was $2m per year.

First, he would have to travel with a banned drug into Russia.
Something Brittney Griner did.

With her anti America attitude, they should leave her there for the full ten years.

Why would men and women athletes be paid equally. They don't bring in the same revenue. Look at both attendance and television rights to the WNBA as opposed to the NBA. Economics 101 says that in order to stay in business you must not pay your employees more than your total revenue.

The NBA already subsidizes the WNBA as it is. The U.S. women's soccer team recently won a lawsuit and is now going to be paid the same as the men's team. That is the one case where it might actually pay off financially as in the U.S. only the women's team generates more TV viewership than the men's team. However, worldwide the television rights to women's soccer goes for a fraction of the price of men's television rights and the revenue from gate receipts is far less than for men's soccer.

Professional sports is just like music. Your wages are determined by how much revenue you individually can generate. That's why quarterbacks make more money than interior linemen even though no quarterback can be successful without good linemen. That's why football players make more money than hockey players as a group even though hockey plays way more games.

How do you propose to come up with the money to pay Griner the same salary that Lebron James makes. Where would the money come from?

Never gonna happen and I don't give a damn if she likes it or not...I usually try and comply with the laws of the country I'm visiting, apparently see she doesn't care about theirs or ours...Darwin lives in this fool's body. Hopefully at least she'll have 10 years to contemplate her choices.

Considering that Women's sports don't bring in the same amount of revenue as men's, it makes good financial sense. Nonetheless, 2 million per year is nothing to sneeze at. It is more than twelve times what I make after nearly four decades of practicing medicine. I bet she doesn't drive around in this, like I do. For 99.9% of professional athletes, nothing else that they might do will ever approach their salaries from sports. Take Reggie Jackson for example. He has an IQ of 160, making him a true genius. Does anyone think that he would have gotten richer teaching physics at MIT or Harvard? Ms. Griner should be grateful for her earnings. Anyone who would risk getting busted for drug possession abroad can't be too bright. I would be surprised if her IQ is much more than half of Reggie's

Hey, Remember when Trump went to bat for Left Wing rapper ASAP Rocky who was jailed in Europe and got him released?

Trump tweeted, "Give ASAP Rocky his freedom", and it worked. Trump got him out but got no thanks from anyone, BTW.

Hopefully she'll be driving a wheelbarrow in a Russian Gulag.
