Z9 2.10 update question.

Have you tried updating the z9 to 2.10
if so how did it go.
I get an error message saying I should restart the computer. then download the update again.
Ive tried that, Ive tried going to the directory and running the DL.
Ive tried going to the directory and running the file as administrator .
any ideas would be appreciated.
Ive also sent a message to NIKON but they usually take a week to answer me.
did you open the file to the Z_9_0201.bin folder...haven't loaded it yet but will do so now to see if I have a problem.
I don't have the Z9 so I can't really do the update but I created the Z_9_0201.bin fine. I think the OP may have some kind of antivirus software that doesn't allow him to run the *.exe file.
I update this morning no problems.

Mine worked like any other camera with any other update. Run the .exe file, then find the .bin file. Copy it directly to the root file on your card. Then run the update in camera. Be sure to have a fully charged battery, takes about 6 minutes.

I've updated without a problem so it's unlikely to be on Nikon's end. What exactly isn't working?
Did it download to your macine.
Did the file load and open when you clicked or double clicked on it? I'm using a Mac and assume a Windows machine behaves similarly. The download is a disc image (*.dmg). When you click on the dmg file it should open a finder/explorer window with a Z9Update folder in it. Opening that folder should reveal a file named Z_9_0210.bin
That file should be copied to the root directry of your camera media.
If that isn't working please be specific and describe what part of the above isn't working.
The OP had problem running the *.exe file. Possibly due to a virus protection program. If he knows someone with a computer he can ask them to run the *.exe file to extract the *.bin file.
Copied the update to a freshly formatted in camera memory card. Agree with mikeroetex, ran the Firmware update in camera with fully charged camera, and all went well.
Sometimes your firewall or anti-virus software gets in the way. For PC Matic SuperShield I have to "Pause for 10 minutes" to get Topaz downloads to work and for the 2.10 upgrade I did yesterday. Recommend running as administrator when you get the .exe file to work. Good Luck.

The OP couldn't extract the *.bin file and thus he can't copy to memory card.

He may have downloaded the MAC dmg file instead of Windows exe file.
I had problems doing the upload with my computer do I took another tact. Set up Nikon Snapbridge on your phone and you can easily update the firmware on the Z9 using the blue tooth feature! Took about 6 minutes.

I updated both my Z9s with no issue at all. Follow Nikon's instructions exactly. Sounds like you have a computer issue. I performed my update on an iMac PRO. Best of luck.
Went fine. Downloaded the .dmg file, opened it and copied the .bin file to a card and updated. Took about the 6 minutes the download page talked about.
