Fireworks got rained out last night, so these are two favorites from last year. Hope I can find something to shoot by venturing further from home by Monday. I do love shooting the fireworks. To paraphrase what Forrest Gump's mom always said about life...(fireworks) is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.
That last shot is worth reposting every year, Diane!
Excellent fireworks shoots they are tricky
I have a stupid question, why are you shooting fireworks on Saturday the second? I notice that they are starting to do that here to. Last night there was a really nice display from across the way. What's going on?
Glad you liked them, Curahee.

I especially appreciate your comment, Mike--I really loved the warmth coming from the light in the old house, and the house itself anchored the display, I thought.

Thanks so much, tramsey. I got hooked on fireworks about 8 years ago and was sorely disappointed when they were halted in my area during covid. Even now, fireworks displays remain sparse in my area.
As to the date of the fireworks displays, the pyrotechnic companies that put on the big town displays are booked in advance. Sunday isn't as popular amongst the church crowd here, and Monday precedes a work day, so I guess that's how the town arrived at Saturday the 2nd for this year. The display for tonight (the 3rd) is just one town over, but as I sit here typing, there is a downpour outside, so tonight will probably be cancelled also.

Maybe it will stop by dark and then the grass will be wet and not so apt to start a fire

Yep, great minds think alike! The rain could be a blessing provided they still do the fireworks.
