I want the Olympus OM 1 camera and nobody seems to have them. What's up? Another bottleneck mess?. Or something else?
Call someone and order one.
When they tell you 6 months...ask why, and politely decline the purchase.

I got my OM-1 through Greentoe. I made an offer in early May and the following day they came back with a counter offer of $100 off list. Since the available ones I saw were going for more than msrp, I accepted and had it from a major midwest camera chain within about a week. Camera is new, USA warranty etc. I have made several large lens and camera purchases through Greentoe without a hitch. Olympus and Lumix has become my goto equipment. I still occasionally use my closetfull of Nikon stuff, but the time has come to pare it down. I will keep my Z6 and D750 and a nucleus of lenses but much of the gear needs to be put into the hands of people who will use it. I checked with a couple of used dealers but i think I will be selling it directly. My habit needs the cash! I will be putting my D800, D300s, IR-converted D70S, Lumix G-85 and numerous lenses on the Hog soon after taking photos of them and deciding on the process. I have used Ebay numerous times in the past, but I think the Hog community is more knowledgeable and also trustworthy. Stay tuned. To get back to the subject of the post, I highly recommend Greentoe.
Thanks and I did contact them after your suggestion. At least I got an estimate of August 15th. Other places say "backordered".
Thanks for the suggestion. My camera store of choice is Samy's in Santa Ana, California. I can take my gear there for trade-in and walk out with a new OM 1 Need a couple of Olympus lenses as well. I have traded with Samy's several times and never been disappointed.
In stock NOW at Amazon. I bought mine there--going to buy another once I sell my em1.3 and em1x. I have bought tons of camera gear at Amazon with no issues, including returns. Just make sure to check who the seller is.
OOPS! Sorry I mis-spoke. Delivery August 17. Best to place an order now. you won't be charged until it ships. If you find another one sooner, super easy to cancel.

Supply chain issues. OMDS is starting to catch up but is still in a "backorder" situation. There has been so much demand for the 150-400 lens one cannot even place an order for a backorder.

The one I saw was both 'sold by' and 'shipped by' Amazon, so no third-party seller on that one.

Just be careful it’s from Amazon or a legit Olympus dealer. Some sellers on Amazon might be selling grey market.

Yup. I always pre-order on the day a new product is announced, if it's one I'm interested in. Don't have to pay till shipped, easy to cancel. Again, and as others have said, look to who the seller is. Sometimes the third party is fine, thou, like B&H or Adorama. Usually straight from Amazon, though.
This is how I got my 150-400 early last year. So glad I didn't wait.
Have patience. The Olympus OM 1 has been released only a short while ago. Production hasn't caught up to demand quite yet.
You have heard of the supply line shortage that is a hangover from the pandemic and the shutdowns (which are still continuing in China) ? Electronic manufacturers need chips and those chips are in short supply. It's not just Olympus. Many Electronic companies are reporting long delivery times.
