Getting a little close?
I probably would have reached for a telephoto lens and not worried if no one posted “nice shot”

Nice shots. Of the four species of venomous snakes in the US I believe the venom of the copperhead is the least toxic. But I certainly never want to get bit by one.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, and for those asking the front of the lens was about 18" from the snake, but the snake was very quite and showed no signs of aggression so I was not worried while taking those pics.
JRiepe, you are correct about the copperhead, had it been a Rattle Snake I don't think that I would have been as comfortable taking these shots as they are known to be more aggressive and can strike from a greater distance.
Absolutely the best Copperhead photos I have ever seen. I know there are some in southern Ohio but I have only seen them flat on the roads. What a beautiful snake, but 18" away. Not for me!
