Since we’re going down the “covid death rate conspiracy” road (again), just let me point out that death is always caused by some major organ failure - heart, lungs, kidneys, etc, but the real question is what is the initial insult/cause that started the failure. If a victim is murdered by choking, yes the ultimate cause of death is respiratory/heart failure, which by the above logic means that the cause of death would be incorrect if reported as a homicide. That argument is just sophistry and doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. A more accurate question is would the victim have died at that time if not infected by the virus.

Just curious, what are your medical/epidemiological credentisls and the sources of your information.
I just found what I was looking for on the Internet! I didn't actually mention any in-depth analysis on epidemics, certainly nothing that requires credentials to know.

I have some backgroumd in medical research, I've done it professionally, before the WWW. I can read and understand a physician's medication insert! But I just read a lot. I wouldn't try to practice medicine.

I've read the CDC guidelines. And the states, for the vast majority of the pandemic, did report according to the CDC guidlines! That is according the Johns Hopkins central repository on COVID stats and information.

Really, everything is in plain view. It's just disguised! For instance, I can tell a lot about a person by what he's done with his life, how his children turned out, his body language, having a conversation, to a pretty in-depth degree, such that I've been accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on people I've never seen before!

What I find intuitively obvious others perceive as impossible for me to know! I'm like that with everything. But I make good use of it! I have 2 million+ online readers in 150+ countries!

I run a think tank that advises heads of state, church leaders, corporate and institutional; leaders, and on occasion the general public. There's nothing that special about me. I've just been working at or a long time.

Truth is free! It's like gold. You just have to dig it up. Sometimes you get lucky, others it takes a while. But I know where to look, because I'm an independent research scientist!

I do it a lot, so I'm good at it. Anyone can question anything, but it shouldn't be without some counterpoint! And I just read the rules, and my op borders on political content! But I can't edit it anymore. I hope I don't get banned!

Well, you won’t get banned for political opinions and comments per se, but you may cause a thread to be moved to the attic, and since political comments are expressly prohibited in chit chat, if you do that often enough, you could get banned. I didn’t interpret your comments as political except the concept that everyone made Covid look as bad as possible to damage Trump. Really? You believe in a vast conspiracy between doctors, medical institutions, the media, etc, with the sole purpose of denigrating Mr. Trump? Really?

Now as far as your sources, you say they’re from the internet, which we all know is always reliable, rIght?. Now of course, there is both factual and inaccurate data on the web, which is why I asked you to post links for your sources. Where are they? And did you speak with any physicians (especially ER and Pulmonologists)? Any epidemiologists, virologists, public health professionals, researchers, Nurses? If you think the CDC data is inaccurate, did you check the sources of their data such as John Hopkins Medical Center? And if you don’t believe anyone’s data, have you compared the death rate due to disease from year to year to make an estimate of how many additional deaths above what’s expected from a regression of past years and the population? Maybe something like this?

Data from the National Vital Statistics System:

Life expectancy for the U.S. population in 2020 was 77.0 years, a decrease of 1.8 years from 2019.

The age-adjusted death rate increased by 16.8% from 715.2 deaths per 100,000 standard population in 2019 to 835.4 in 2020.

Age-specific death rates increased from 2019 to 2020 for each age group 15 years and over

Per the CDC:

Monkeypox spreads in different ways. The virus can spread from person-to-person through:

direct contact with the infectious rash, scabs, or body fluids
respiratory secretions during prolonged, face-to-face contact, or during intimate physical contact, such as kissing, cuddling, or sex
touching items (such as clothing or linens) that previously touched the infectious rash or body fluids
pregnant people can spread the virus to their fetus through the placenta

All I can say is that I’m relieved that cheap whiskey and chocolate milk doesn’t transmit monkey pox.

I said in MY opinion. Am I not entitled to it? Just because it's on the internet doesn't give it credibility. In time we'll see if they got this right. They are now a political arm of the Govt, not a scientific arm. They wrote their school Covid guidelines drafted from the teachers union. (UFT)

But on the bright side, us old farts that have had smallpox vaccinations are protected against monkey pox. It’s those young sprouts that can get it. The only time in my life where being old has paid off.

Apparently the smallpox vaccine gives around 85% protection against monkeypox, so that’s pretty good.

Monkeypox is spread by "close physical contact" with someone who has it. Apparently the closer the contact, the greater the risk, and contact with mucus membranes, saliva, and other bodily fluids increases the risk - you get the idea... Although possible, it is not generally an airborne disease.

The NYC Health Department recently had a clinic to provide monkeypox vaccine. The following is their published eligibility criteria:

Anyone can get and spread monkeypox, but most cases in the current outbreak are among gay, bisexual or other men who have sex with men. The Health Department in collaboration with NYC Health + Hospitals are already offering vaccine to people identified as close contacts to someone suspected or confirmed with monkeypox. The new vaccine clinic expands eligibility to all gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (cisgender or transgender) ages 18 and older who have had multiple or anonymous sex partners in the last 14 days. The Health Department has issued guidance for eligible adults considering vaccination so that they can better understand their personal level of risk. Men who have sex or other intimate contact with men they met through dating apps or social media platforms, or at clubs, raves, sex parties, saunas, or other large gatherings may be at higher risk of having been recently exposed. Appointments are recommended but limited walk-ins will be accepted.

Incidentally, at their recent vaccination clinic they ran out of vaccine. Demand exceeded supply.

So - if you think you are in this high risk category - for goodness sakes, get a life!

In my opinion and for me, being old pays off everyday I awaken and I'm still alive.
