Works as expected so far.

Your used Nikon came with a KEH case? Or did you order that separately and additionally? I don't see a Nikon box. The reason I ask is I bought a used Gossen Exposure meter from KEH and it came with out a case or box, just the meter well wrapped in packaging.

I buy cameras from KEH because of the cool case they send your purchase in!
Carrying around a case that not only advertises KEH but advertises the you have camera equipment in it is not wise.
As many on this site have posted before, the best thing is a diaper bag. No one would want to find the surprise that may be in there! And don't advertise what's hanging around your neck either. I never use the supplied camera neck straps, or any neck strap at all for the matter. No one needs to know that you're shooting a D850 or a D5 etc. Someone might rip it off your neck given the chance.

Totally concur...use mine every day...
Good choice. Am I correct in my assumption that the D500 is an early full frame camera.
No. Is a DX-format. Is excellent for wildlife, particularly birding. Can achieve 5-6FPS and will rarely buffer, even after tens of shots...has now been discontinued as Nikon moves to mirrorless bodies...If you can buy one now, I would highly recommend...I had two full frame cameras from Nikon, D750 and D850. The D500 is easily my favorite.

The "Steal-Me Strap?"
I don't use those.
The KEH case picture is just to show how the camera arrived. I won't be using that either. Maybe I would use it for extra padding when travelling.

That's how KEH shipped it to you? That's quite a nice case, there. When I got my D7100 from Adorama, it came in the "plain white box".
Yes, that's how it showed up. It was wrapped in bubble wrap and packed a box that was twice the size needed.

It did. It's a nice touch for sure, but it won't hold much more than the camera and battery/charger.
I just thought it was nice. They didn't have to do it.

I bought a new D500 this year because with my D7200 I was having a very difficult time focusing on birds in flight. With the D500 it will focus almost instantaneously when the subject is in the viewfinder area. I programmed the Pv button for group area focus for use for BIF.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks, photoman!
I kinda do already. Right now, it's tethered to my laptop and setup for some macro shooting. I'm using DigiCamControl, which is an open source, donation-based app you can find on GitHub.
I've also used DigiCam tethering for bird photography. With a USB cord extension, I sit in the dining room watching the bird feeder out on the deck, with DigiCam Live View running. Just click "Capture" and it's done.
