I don't get it.what cameras raw files does the latest lr not import?
When a new camera is released, third party software must be updated to support it. Camera manufacturers don't provide third party software companies with their color science. Adobe and others have to reverse engineer it. They have to buy a camera and create the camera profiles themselves.
Anyone converting RAW in June 2022 to DNG is wasting their time and effort. Just import those RAW files directly into LR and work on the file in the native and supported format.
Here's an example. The Panasonic Lumix GH6 was introduced on 2/21/2022 and was for sale (i.e.; available at dealers) in mid-March. It was mid-May before the release of ACR 14.3 enabled raw editing of GH6 .RW2 files.
I still don't see the value of converting to dng after import.
I agree. I was addressing those that said converting to DNG was sometimes needed for new raw formats. I was saying that wasn’t the OP’s situation. His converting to DNG is superfluous.
