Was in west central Florida last couple of weeks on vacation. Was lucky enough to run into another guy walking around one of the parks with an R6 walking along taking photos of insects. He turned me onto this nest that was literally across the road from the condo we were staying at. Went out and set up and took a LOT of shots. Was hard to pare it down to 10.
In that first shot, the hen had sat there fairly quiet for some time. Then she started calling quite vociferously. I caught a glimpse of the cock (name?) incoming circling once and managed to get the camera off the tripod. Was pretty exciting, and in the end, quite satisfying and pleasing to have gotten these.
Canon R6 with RF 100-500L. Debated a long time about dropping the $$$ for that lens, but certainly not disappointed now.
Constructive comments and critique always welcome.
