Nothing like an airshow to let you evaluate your panning skills! I know I am not very good but gave it a try starting around 1/60, 1/125 and finally settling on 1/320 just so I would get SOMETHING from the day! The goal is to capture not only prop blur but a complete circle. It is a combination of several factors including camera settings and even position of the sun! Ground shots are quite a bit easier, but man, the in flight shots really challenge me!
Here are a few of my keepers from the day. I was shooting with a Z9 in shutter priority mode with a 100-400 f4-5.6 S lens. Some with a 1.4 TC. I am still not totally sold on the 1.4 but working with it some more to see if I can solve the softness. It is not horrible, just enough for me to notice.

Wonderful set! Your panning skills are intact and working well! Thanx for sharing.
I think you did a fine job. Photos look nice.
Beautiful F4U Corsair shots friend of the family made Ace in one during World War Eleven
. The P51 is a close second. Had a coworker who flew one in Korea.
Great series, thanks for sharing.
Reallly good shots. I use 1/250 or 1/320 to get prop blur, as well.
