I am thinking of buying one of these to use with my thread mount manual lens's. I would be grateful for input from users and comparisons of the two models. Thanks in advance.

I don't fit your request exactly, as I have the XE2s and the X-Pro 2 and not the XE3. Most of the time I prefer the XE2s over the X-Pro 2 for size considerations. When I bought the XE2s used, the XE3 was out and I did a lot of reading and research about both cameras. The XE2 and XE2s are a bit larger than the XE3 but not enough to make a difference. I chose the XE2s because of button placement and button options on the body and I'm very pleased with my choice. I don't think the difference in sensors is enough to keep you from considering the XE2 or XE2s.

Try the X-E4.
I like it better than any others in the X-E line up and prefer to use it over the X-T3

Thanks for your response. How is the focus peaking in the XE2 cameras?

I've had an X-E3 for a couple of years... no complaints... having said that,
it's not weather sealed, so I keep it dry and out of sandy environments...
even though I do use it at the beach.

Stellar image quality... The Fujinon lenses play a part in that. More power to you
using vintage glass though... but do yourself a favour, and get a body that comes with a "Kit Lens"
either the 14-45 OIS or the 18-55 OIS. I went for the 14-45 as I like
bulk depth of field and really wide angles.

By the way the X-E3 (and probably the "2" too) has killer film modes.
I love the Across monochrome film simulation.

The X-E3 has 24,000,000 pixels, the X-E2 16,000,000.
There's a raft of other differences too.

Here's a comparo of the 2 units.

Here's a couple of samples from my X-E3... do the double ''download''
for detail... particularly important for the image of my old fujifilm bridge camera...

If you bother with the double download of my car at the Victoria/New South Wales boarder
you'l see what I mean about "bulk" depth of field:

Definitely. Youll have no OIS with such lenses. Im just crazy about adapted lenses, so I never buy a body without IBIS (and I have many bodies).

Thanks, gentlemen, for the information you supplied to me re these Fujifilm cameras. I am leaning toward the XE3 but am a little intimidated by the menu.

When I first got my X-E1, I didn’t open the instruction book for a coupe of weeks.
I found the camera so intuitive.
I now have an X-E2 and love it for trips.
The 18-55 “kit lens” is so amazing.
Not cheap plastic like a lot of them.

Do you have Olympus bodies? They have IBIS.

I've had the XE2 for years and love it. You can update the firmware (It may have been already done) to essentially
get most of the features of the XE2.S

I cannot recommend putting your thread mount FF lenses on an mu4/3 body. The mismatch is way too severe. Very small sensors need better lenses than pre1975 FF designs. Even *if* you could actally find a threaded lens thaz optically up to the task, a 2X crop factor is rather hard to swallow. You will have no wide angle results using thread mount lenses.

Thanks, but I use these lenses all the time with my MFT camera with good results.
