My high school biology teacher says that anything that has a flower is a "plant," not a weed. So according to him, it's a plant.

Bet your science teacher told you we had nine planets in our solar system too...lol. I remember as a kid blowing them seeds off 'n' making a wish. Come to think of it...Dad always did have a problem with them in his meticulous lawn.

This fall when we went to Dallas to see our grand kids, I showed the three year old a dandelion gone to seed. we blew a bunch of them. He got a big kick out of it. Then his older sister told him, 'taste it, they taste good.' He stuck one in his mouth and tried to spit it out. He ended up crying and his sister ended up standing in the corner. Not good. He doesn't like dandelions gone to seed :|

But that's a good shot of one. :-)

Definition of a weed - A plant in the wrong place. Nice picture.

I was hoping everyone could see past the Weed and notice its design. Even though the dandelion lacks colorful beauty, it makes up for it with its geometry as a weed bloom. In a sense, the dandelion can be a symbol of life. During its bloom, the beautiful white dandelion stands proudly above all the grass and weeds. As a short time passes, the beautiful geometric designs of the dandelion are gone. It can be a symbol to remind you to enjoy every moment that we are blessed to have. It shows that life is delicate and we only have one chance to make the most of it. Just my thoughts. Happy Thanksgiving from Snap.

I see survival of the fittest. One man's weed is another man's flower. While I hate weeds in the lawn, there is something magically about dandelions at this stage. I love how you gave us the ant's perspective by getting under the dandelion. Awesome job; I want to pluck it, blow, and make a wish.

As kids we used to blow the seeds off too, but for the next years job security. Never heard of wishing on a dandelion.
That's a nice picture of one.

Wait 'til Phyllis gets hold of tlbuljac.

love those little feathery stars. I love that sometimes plants can be even more beautiful past prime. Even like many people.
