It is going to take a long time. As I understand, the project is privately funded, no federal money. When finished, the image of Crazy Horse will be larger that the images at Mount Rushmore.

First saw it in 1976. A large drawing with the hole cut through above what will be the horses mane. Only the artists shack was there. Now there is a college, restaurant, gift shop and a very large Indian museum with items donated from across the country. MT Rushmore you can see everything in a few hours, To see everything at CrazyHorse will take you all day…maybe 2. When finished all 4 figures of MT Rushmore will fit on just the head of CrazyHorse(for a size comparison). It’s a worthwhile stop if you’re in the area and if you arrive on one one of their special weekends you can hike to the top for the cost of 2 cans of food as a donation. I visit every year at least once.

Very nice. I was just looking at my similar images from a few years ago. I thought the memorial was (and is) very impressive.
