One day, we drove north from Pismo Beach, California, to see the seals and other attractions. Attached are some photos of that trip. I used my older Olympus e-m10 with the 40-150 consumer zoom lens.
Photography is an interesting hobby. There are many approaches ... snapshots of family ... documenting the reality of what is seen ... and artistic re-renderings of a scene.
I am not a particularly good photographer, but I love landscapes photography, which often includes doctoring the image to enhance the appeal and beauty of the event.
Unfortunately the entire time I visited the area, the sky by the ocean was misty, hazy, and foggy, all of which is not particularly appealing. Of the attached photos, only the Morro Rock in Morro Bay is an accurate representation of what we saw. With the others, I used Luminar Neo to make an enhancement (changing the sky) to add impact to the scene. The result mirrored what might have occurred on a different day with different weather ... the weather I wished I could have experienced. But, I am rarely at the right place at the right time in my life.
Basically, the Central Coast of California is an interesting and often beautiful place. That is what I tried to represent ... for good or for bad.
Here we start in the North, above where Seal Beach is located.
1. The Piedras Blancas Lighthouse. This is titled: "Some Houses Tall, And Others Small."
2. The Pier at San Simeon near the Hearst Castle is a lovely setting.
3. A hazy Morro Rock captured our attention. My mother loved the look of the endless rolling waves.
4. Back in Pismo Beach, under the pier we see what I call:
"The Pismo Beach Barnacle Cathedral ... With A Lively Congregation."
5. Finally, the tour ends with a stormy setting for the Pismo Beach Pier.
I suppose some day I will buy a used full-frame camera for landscapes. But for now, with my limited skills my little e-m10 with 16 MP is sufficient for my needs.
You and the e-m10 know how to take great photos! Mostly you but we have to give the camera a little credit.
Well done!

Wonderful! Maybe you don’t need a full frame.
Beautiful. Especially the sky and contrast. I am a retired public school art teacher dabbling in watercolor. May I have your permission to paint this photo.

On no blasphemy!!! Say it isn’t true!! Lol.
I have been shooting M43 for many years and in good light there is very little difference in IQ compared to “full frame”
There is a u-Tube video of professionals comparing 11x17 printed images of the same scenes shot with m43 and full frame (blind test). The viewers couldn’t reliably call which print was taken with which camera.
Certainly, you can paint it. I love paintings.
