Interesting. Fighter jets will be getting high quality cameras to capture images of those things they can't identify. From what I understand the electronics fitted to fighters is for shooting down an enemy, not for taking travel photos. That supposedly explains why those UFO images are so poor. With high quality cameras onboard, they will be able to get high quality images to analyze.

Also interesting, and news to me. "Foo Fighters"

foo fight·er
/ˈfo͞o ˌfīdər/
noun
plural noun: foo fighters
an unidentified flying object of a kind reported by US pilots during World War II, usually described as a bright light or ball of fire.

Research the skin walker ranch and the areospace company that researched the ranch for 20 years before the current researchers. The petroglyphs even show oddities and have the symbol of a portal.

Yes, I've seen several videos about that place. The name itself would keep me away.

The Skinwalker Rance series is on the History Channel. Very strange things happen.

Right. I thought that's all it was. I wonder if the band knew the history of the word when they chose the name.

The cameras in fighters were never intended to be very high quality. They record speed, altitude, heading, & a circle around the target they’re tracking. The cameras were originally specialized motion picture cameras mounted vertically behind the instrument panel & recorded what the pilot saw on his head up display or HUD). Until the late ‘70s or early ‘80s they used black & white film. I managed a couple gun camera labs while I was in the Air Force (48th FIS & 4th TFW) that used color film. Most of the aircraft had been converted to using video tape by the time I retired in 1988.

Yes, they knew exactly what the name meant.

We used to have a TV science fiction show about UFOs. The lead in was "It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Superman."

One day a friend building hours decided to
do a return trip in a Rockwell Commander (a light single engine aircraft)
from Moorabbin Airport to Tullamarine return...

Tullamarine is Melbournes busy
international airport and a Primary Control Zone... I went along for the ride.

On the way there, someone on the ground had released
a kids helium filled shiny balloon... one of the things that
look like a bladder out of a wine "cask".

Anyway as it zipped up past us to the port, I easily
identified it for what it was, however when the pilot in command
saw it, he gasped "I just saw a UFO!"... I thought yeah, very funny!

Before I could object, he got on the radio and reported his "UFO" sighting to
Tullamarine Air Traffic Control... He really thought it was a UFO. LOL

As he'd made the sighting "official"
and identified himself/us with the aircrafts call sign
with his call to ATC, I decided to
keep my mouth shut... (for reasons that may or may not be obvious )

After we landed, he then went and reported his "sighting" to Tullamarine Ground in person as well.

That was more than 30 years ago, however, to this day he believes he saw a "UFO"... ROFL.
