As he told me on one of my early posts ‘me and old Lunar go back a long way’ - it was certainly a fascination for him, as were his carvings.
Sure we're. His carvings were awesome

Letting everyone know. Just talked to his son and Erv already has dementia. Now has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer which has spread to his brain. Dr's have him in chemo and radiation but say he has about a year. So sad to hear this. He was always a good friend and fun to go shooting with
So sad to hear this Jack, such a lovely gentleman. Erv was the first person to welcome me on UHH.

My wife had Alzheimers for five years so I know what Erv's family is going through. Please pray for Erv ... and his family.

So sorry to hear . . .
What a true friend to ALL Photographers.
He is (I refuse to use past tense) the most helpful, sharing, and gracious photographer ever.
In his posts, he always shares cookbook responses to how he does everything photographic.
Thanks to Erv I can now "Shoot The Moon".
Prayers to Erv and his family.
Erv is a true UHH icon.

Thanks for keeping up with Erv, Jack, and letting us know about his health issues. Sad to get this news and wish his family strength during this difficult time. Remember when he retired and got his travel trailer. He was looking forward to coming out west again...he wanted to spend time in the Tetons and Yellowstone.
