Thank you for the reminder Harry! Definitely something all of us pet owners should be aware of.
Ray.
An excellent and timely reminder with summer looming. Beach sand can get pretty hot, too.

And it's not just the feet - if you are walking with your pet (of a young toddler) the air temperature around the pet's or child's head is a LOT hotter than it is around yours because they are getting a lot more reflected heat than you are.

My brother has neuropathy in his feet. A cople of yeas ago he burned his feet badly walking across a parking lot. With the neuropathy he couldn't feel the pain.

This is very important especially if you have pets and/or young children. Thanks for posting this.

As a kid in NJ, (40's/50's) we would walk to the beach in bare feet. Just before the beach, we would have to cross over the asphalt on Ocean Ave. To avoid burning the soles of our feet, we walked on the white lines while crossing the asphalt. It helped!! Unfortunately, the boardwalk was also hot. No way to escape that heat. It was the only way to the beach. I'm here, so obviously we survived.
