What mount?
Looks like a Nikon mount and the seller is currently selling all Nikon cameras and lenses, but he should verify the mount.

Also whether it is a G1 or a G2 . . .

It's a G1...doesn't have the G2 markings which are significantly different.

I also have a Tamron 150-600 for Nikon but mine is a G2. What is the main difference between G1 & G2 ? Just curious. I have used my copy I think 4 times. I am getting too old and should unload it to someone much younger.
The G1 had a slight loss of sharpness past 550mm , G2 fixed that .

Thanks for your reply. I have Tamron TAP-in console that I bought 2 years ago but bever used. I reckon I should try it out before they roll me into the cremation furnace.

You are correct and it is surprising why people would shy away from the G1 when they would be getting a sharp lens up to the range of 500-550 when the Nikon version only goes to 500. At the price I'm asking it is about 1/3rd the cost of the Nikon and will most likely deliver 95% of the shots they would ever want to shoot.
i agree with you , used a G1 one time for birds , and was happy with the result .it is a nice lens , not heavy , focus well .
Can you tell me what camera this is for
Thanks
Joe

It is designed for Nikon Full Frame but works perfectly well with a crop sensor body. Magnification of course is 1.5 times greater with a crop sensor.
