There really isn't a RAW image as RAW is basically unprocessed data. Imbedded in each RAW file is a JPG thumbnail image, and that is what's being displayed. Sure, processing would have cleaned it up a little, but JPG just doesn't have enough data to be anywhere near as forgiving as RAW.

That's what I thought and that's why I mostly use RAW.
