I wash EVERY food container I we recycle, peanut butter jars (add some soap, replace lid, shake, let sit for a day, repeat once - clean!), mayo jars, plastic take away containers. If we recycle it, it is cleaned.
Reason being, is if the recycle lot is deemed contaminated (ie. with too much food), that WHOLE LOT goes to the landfill.......

Same here. Everything that goes into the plastic/metal recycle bin gets rinsed off first. Not only don't I want my recyclables smelling like garbage, I don't want it attracting critters. What never ceases to amaze me are the folks who put their recycling out on really windy nights, something I do not do. The following morning there's usually recyclables/trash all over the neighborhood.

The air pump is connected to a compressor. The places that charge for compressed air aren't charging for the air, they're charging for the service. Personally, I don't pay for compressed air at service stations. There are plenty of places in the area that offer compressed air for free, and I have my own portable 12 volt air compressor.

A good point. Charging for the use of the equipment. I have a small compressor and tank at home that I use to power nail and brad guns which takes care of my occasional tire needs. As an aside, what do you think of the practice of inflating tires with nitrogen?

Air is 78% Nitrogen… I think nitrogen tire inflation is mostly a sales gimmick.

If my water is flavored, it’s coffee, tea, wine, or beer. Usually, it’s filtered tap water.

I gave up flavored water in 1983.

The single advantage of Nitrogen (despite all the other advertising) is that unlike compressed air (unless coming from a compressor with a dryer) is the lack of moisture, which over time, corrodes and causes TPM (tire pressure monitor) sensors to fail.

Big companies like Coke are in the bottled water business with an eye to enhancing profits.

But when it comes to crazy prices and what folks will pay, there is nothing that compares with what folks pay at a ball park/sports areana for 12oz beer (Probably $9 is a minimum compared to a six pack in the store ($9.99/6= $1.55 approx). And that is after spending at least $25 or more for a ticket (Bleacher-special deal day).

I've heard about that. It's supposedly for people who are going to high altitudes or need oxygen for some legitimate reason. I suspect that people buy it just to take a puff occasionally - just because.

Do they still have oxygen bars? They were a trendy thing for a while where people could go in and just breath pure oxygen for a while.

Sounds like a futuristic movie where the earth's atmosphere is totally polluted.

Too much oxygen is bad for you. I hold my breath a lot during the day - just to be safe.
