When I create a post I go to the appropriate forum and create it there...no muss, no fuss.
P.S. - I see it has been moved to the gallery.
Golly gee whiz, it must be nice to be King AND perfect.

Go back to the forum which may not be named where you think you are the King and perfect. Of course neither is true

How is an image of a Galaxy, captured very well in my opinion, any different than any other subject? I believe there are some in the Gallery section that may not subscribe to the astro section that appreciate seeing these elusive objects.
Never said it couldn't be posted to the Gallery. The problem is that it was posted to the Main Photography Discussion forum.
Often when someone complains about an image being posted there the excuse is that it is a photo and I thought it would generate discussion...so what is the problem?
That's why I recommended Astro first as there it would generate Discussion from people familiar with the subject. Some Astro photos are posted both to the Gallery and the Astro forum to catch a variety of opinions.
The same is done with other forum specific images on a daily basis.
You won't find a specific image ban in the Main Discussion forum rules, but the fact that the Admin. will move them to the Gallery is a de facto indication of a ban. Nuff said.

Nice shot. I still haven't even gotten a successful pic of a star with my Bahtinov mask...or a starry sky in the last few weeks when I could actually stay awake to photograph it :( I'll be using a crop frame Sony SLT with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens attached to a tripod. On my first BM attempt I was on the porch and forgot to open the screen. Left an "artistic" pattern.
