Has anyone used 3rd party inks with an Epson 3880 Stylus Pro printer? What was/is your experience (good, bad, color fidelity, etc., etc.). I had to dump a HP color printer years ago because I could not find any more inks available - original equipment or 3rd party. I am starting to find matte black ink for the 3880 a little more difficult to find. Has anyone used 3rd party inks from InkOwls, a Canadian firm, or others?
Thanks for any information you may have.

I have used Ink Technologies for decades, always been satisfied, no problems, guaranteed on cartridges, ink or toner. They show your cartridges, although OEM versions not their own brand. Free shipping $50+, current 10% discount code INK3813.

I have been using LD Products Ink in both My Canon P-100 and my Brother MFC-J5845DW and have had absolutely no problems so far.

I once worked for a major oil company, blending and bottling oil under their own brand and other generic brands.
The only difference in the generic brand was the label. The oil company was well recognized and could demand a higher price for their brand because people trusted it. Their price was about 50% higher that that of the generic brand. Many products like that are the same. People will not buy a “cheap” brand because cheap means inferior.
Inks are only made by about 3 or 4 major ink companies. The only thing different is the label.

http://www.PRECISIONCOLORS.COM Outstanding !! GREAT OEM color match to Epson..I have an Epson R2400 printer that uses the SAME inks as an epson 3800.( He DOES have the inks for your 3880) . Mike's color matching is beyond reproach, and I feel the BEST for aftermarket pigment inks. PERIOD!

Many thanks to all that replied! Apparently, InkOwl is the new kid on the block as nobody mentioned them - I hope they would have been mentioned if their product/service was terrible.

I have always used 3rd party inks with no problems. Now the local ink supplier has stopped refilling cartridges and I reckon I will have to mail them off somewhere to be refilled. I will check out InkOwl.

I used some once on my Epson R3000. They were awful! Caused problems and gummed up the works. Colour wasn't very good either.

Thanks for responding DebAnn. Was your comment referring to InkOwl brand of replacement ink or to 3rd party replacement inks in general?

I'm afraid I don't have the name brand any more. I just looked at the cartridges in the printer and they have no ID. When I ordered them I thought they were Epson cartridges because the company clearly was trying to make people think so. I haven't used the printer for a long time - since I discovered the poor print quality. I would never use inks other than the printer brand in future.
