A Callery pear flower that will bear small fruit that birds love and humans can't eat, a bird that prefers live food to fruit, a fox that prefers birds to fruit, wether eggs or Canada geese. Finally a track of the elusive suburban NJ coyote that I have seen but haven't captured as yet. Research tells me the foxes aren't in danger from the coyote. Still waiting on fox kits, any day now.

Great set of images!!!

These are some great images. I especially like the image of the pear blossom. In Missouri and probably elsewhere, the callery pear has been declared a noxious plant due to its invasive nature. The trees tend to spread in colonies that choke out native plants. The Missouri Department of Conservation has direction on how to eradicate the trees, cut the trees and then poison the stump. It also has a program of giving a native tree for every callery pear that is removed.

This is in central New Jersey. Small area between cemetery, interstate and petroleum pipeline.

Wow. Didn’t know that. That’s what’s so great about UHH. Post something and someone always has good info to share. Thanks!
