It does take up space, but I find that not that much space that I cannot justify ease of workflow with best file format available. Memory is pretty cheap and I have not run out of space yet. I use two 128 GB cards in each of my Z9’s, second card set as overflow. I have never hit the overflow to the second card yet. This is not to mean that others will not, I have not. So, personally, the way I shoot, it is not an issue for me.
