I have learned that photography is like a love affair. We take risks and willingness to be open to feedback to maintain and improve a relationship. I took this photo several years ago. Lately, it has been more of a struggle for me to enjoy my hobby. I'm trying to figure out why.

Spring is almost over here and the flowers almost gone. I haven't taken 1 photo and like you, am wondering why. I hope we both figure it out and get back to doing the things we should be doing.
Very nice photo!!
Dodie
Thank you. I think my problem is lost confidence and those around me seem to think others "are great photographers!"

Great is relative! (Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.)
You did great with this shot!
Longshadow, thanks for your nice words. You are correct. Beauty is relative. More importantly is in the satisfaction of one's work.

Get back out! This photo shows that you know how to do it. Your hobby is to give you pleasure, it is up to others to understand, not to you to explain.

Excellent! Just the advice I need! I need to turn off the perceived critics!

I've had a love/hate relationship with photography since I was about 15 years old. Could never seem to get what I wanted in a photo and would get frustrated and swear I would find something else to screw up! Some periods, I would go a couple years without taking a photo. Missed a lot of great photos that I still keep in my brain, but would probably not have been worth a darn if I had taken them. All I can say is keep at it, I think of it wasn't meant to be, I would have given it up a long time ago. I'm 67 now and loving life and photography, digital isn't the only reason, but it's a big part of it!
I like your photo very much!
Not all but many of us take breaks from the things we enjoy. I was on this forum every day for quite some time but then took a several months hiatus until about a week ago. Now that Spring is here and with more of the things I enjoy to photograph back my interest in photography has increased and hopefully yours will as well.
