Oops...... F1 was/is a camera.
I'll take Whole Words for 1000 Alex.
I used to be a big Formula 1 fan until the rules turned it into a high-speed parade. It's ok, but nowhere near as exciting as it used to be. More passing, they need more passing.

They should have minimum rules, like: Driver car with exact weight & dimensions only.
Let the manufacturers do innovations.
Love F1, although stopped watching for a bit when Mercedes was finishing #1 and #2 every race. 2022 looks like it will be a competitive season with Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes fighting it out.
Thanks, Denny, I have been a F1 fan since the 60s, a big Ferrari fan at that.

I agree. I’ve been a fan since the late 50s/early 60s when great drivers like Stirling Moss and Jimmy Clark were larger than life - it does look a lot like a slot car race now. I was watching the excellent movie Grand Prix the other day with real F1 footage and actual drivers like Graham Hill, and I found myself wishing for those old days. Of course, it was more dangerous for the drivers (and fans) then.

Thanks for providing that link. Being a fan, I knew about some of the intricacies of the F-1 cars, but now it all comes together. I too was getting pretty tired of Mercedes always winning race after race but this year has some promise for better racing. Red Bull and Ferrari have mounted a charge.
I'm reminded of the old saying: I remember F-1 when the tires were skinny and the drivers were fat.
Thanks. Only been to two races (both at Brands Hatch), but I'm a fan.

Great shots! Thanks for posting.
I feel about the same of formula 1 as I do about NASCAR. It used to be great sports but they have spoiled the excitement for me because it's not competitive anymore, it's about money and politics. I have driver cup cars before, that was exciting.

Nice photo of Niki Lauda. I met him at Watkins Glen International in New York several years ago, after he had retired from driving. I had pit roof tickets and there weren't a whole lot of people up there at the time. If I recall correctly, it wasn't an F1 race, it was an IMSA sports car event. Anyway, there was a gentleman up there, who appeared to be in his 60's, wearing a red cap. I said to my buddy, hey, that guy in the red cap sure looks a lot like Niki Lauda. That's when I paid closer attention and noticed his ear and scars. We went up to him and apologized for interrupting him and told him we wanted to verify he is who we thought he was and how much of a privilege it was to meet a racing hero and legend. He was very friendly and chatted with us for a while.

Just a couple of points to raise for those comment.
1. There is a strict minimum weight of car and driver. If you notice drivers go direct to scales at end of race
2. This year there were major changes. To promote more close pases. One of the big way this was done as was to clean up the trailing air.
Glad you enjoyed it
BTW MB is distant 3rd this year
I no longer watch F1 had been a fan since 1972. I quit after that debacle of a race that ended the season last year. The rules were clear, the safety car should have remained and the race should have ended under caution. Verstappen should still be trying to get his first championship. In any event, that was the end of it for me. Nothing has been done to correct the season, absolutely nothing.
