Nope, you made it political when you injected it into a sports discussion in chit chat. Political comments & topics belong in the attic. Please, let’s just talk about basketball - the St. Peter - UNC game is about to start (Kansas just killed off Miami). We hear politics 24x7 - let’s just watch/talk NCAA basketball this afternoon.

It’s over and their great run has come to an end, but congratulations to a great team from a very small school when going up against the “big guys” with big recruiting advantages. I am, however, looking forward to a real grudge match next weekend between UNC and Duke.

Yowza! I got caught up in the the run St. Peters was having (I was rooting for them but UNC was just to big and experienced) and didn’t even see this colossal barn burner coming! Talk about timing!

Bomb shelters may be necessary!

Yep, basketball is a big deal in this part of NC - 13 national titles (2 from my Alma Mater) between 3 schools within 20 miles of me, so the competition is fierce. The last page of my 1974 NC State annual when we beat UCLA for the title says: “Go to hell Carolina” (UNC)

There is the ACC and then there are all of those other leagues.

Only #15 to make the Elite Eight in NCAA history. That's amazing. 2800 population. Purdue has approximately 21,000 undergraduate males.

You realize they really shouldn't have been there. But that said, that is what college basketball is all about! They did well though for a 15. I am pulling for my Jayhawks, they are on a roll. Coach said this is definately not one of his best teams, BUT they ALL think they are!!! I am a Carolina fan also my dad was from there, and i still miss dean. Thanks BE SAFE!!

It was a uniquely great run, St. Peter's!! You have the fabulous distinction of being the first 15th seed to win 3 rounds in the NCAA.
Be proud! You and the coach deserve accolades!

Congratulations to St. Peter’s for a great season and March Madness run! The disappointment of the loss to NC will fade but your accomplishment will last a lifetime. Thanks for giving your fans a great ride👍

If you want to see a really great game, stay tuned for the Duke-UNC game. This is a huge rivalry between schools that are about 8 miles apart. They have never played each other in the tournament before.

I know the area and history well. I'll be rooting for the Blue Devils. I lived in NC for 13 years and have friends in Raleigh.

Thanks,
Mark

Hard to know which one to root for - since I went to NC State, they’re both enemies Since it’s the end of coach K’s career, it would be nice to see him go out with a win.

A great rivalry fueled by NC’s win in Coach K’s last home game a few weeks ago. Should be fun to watch.

My son went to UNC and hated Duke with a passion. I know he'll be looking down and rooting for a complete thrashing of Coach K's group.
