Looking good! We’ll be there Thursday!

This is a nice shot of a beautiful lighthouse. I have quite a large collection myself, taken at various times of the day. Sunset is a good time to be there and also at the nearby York Beach. There is a Lighthouse cruise from Perkins Cove that will give you views from all around the lighthouse along with quite interesting information about it and the Boon Island lighthouse which is eight miles out to sea. It is the tallest lighthouse in Maine and it is possible to photograph it with a long lens, at least at dusk.

But you say you will be there on Thursday and I might mention some other sights in the area. Do visit the Ogunquit Museum of American Art and walk the grounds (with your camera) even if the museum itself is closed. A very easy walk in Ogunquit is across the bridge on Bridge Street and turn right on River Rd. Watch for birds but also take note of the sand islands in the river. If you are up to an easy hike, take your camera out on Marginal Way in Ogunquit. A bit more challenging, but still a fairly easy hike is along the Cliff Walk in York.

Bob, in addition to the Marginal Way In Ogunquit (which I have walked many many times) also go to the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge and the Wells Reserve at Laudholm. Both are in the northeastern part of the town of Wells which is the next town north of Ogunquit. There are many great restaurants in both towns, but our favorite is Joshua’s which we would often visit twice per week during our three yearly trips trips. Unfortunately my wife can’t travel just now, but we used to go in late May, early September and early October. Enjoy and take lots of photos.

Thanks, we've been to Marginal Way several times, haven't walked the whole distance yet, usually park at Perkins Cove, we did Rachel Carson a couple of years ago, usually stop at Maine Diner when we are near there, this year our plan is to hit Lubec, not carved in stone yet, then come down ending in Wells.
