Just would like to thoughts from people that own a Sony RX100 Vii or any of the RX line if they like the camera and if good enough for vacation and travel.

I have a Sony RX10IV and like it very much if that qualifies for the answer you are looking for. I recommend it highly for a vacation and travel camera.

Thanks Dennis.. I appreciate it.
I just purchased a Sony RX100 VI & a VII for my wife and I for travel purposes. We both have Panasonic G9’s and PL and Olympus lenses and my wife has a Sony 1” 1080P Camcorder that she uses also for our foreign travel. We did have a pair of Canon G16’s which were great little cameras with a 1/2/3” sensor 24-140mm equivalent range but only 12 MP. I compared the photos & videos directly with the Canon G16, G9 M4/3 and in 10 minutes I knew I was going to buy a second RX100. My wife works with video often and said the RX100 matched or surpassed her 2 pound plus Camcorder, beat the Canons hands down and was was only slightly inferior to the M4/3 equipment. We use point & shoots for a supplemental camera but these cameras are really good so we may lighten our kit with this new option. They are small and very smooth so we have ordered the Sony grip pad for each to provide a better grip. We also have three batteries each. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your input. I have a Sony Rx10 iv. It takes phenomenal photographs and find that I use that more than my A7 iii. All in one with the 1 inch sensor. I was thinking of the rx100 Vii for a smaller carry around all the time camera.
Great, then you already know the quality of the image it produces. Yes, I see us taking it with us locally as well as I did with the G16, but the image and features are just superior. It is tiny but the button layout is fine.
It's a great camera and can deliver really nice shots. I tried it, however, and it was just too small for my big hands to be comfortable with. I gave mine to my wife and she loves it.

I have one and love it. Great for vacations when you want to travel light. I would also purchase the handgrip.

It's a perfect camera for travel due to it's size and image quality. On the other hand most negative comments are about size (too small) and price. I love mine.
It is absolutely "good enough" for vacation and travel. I have a Nikon D780 plus the Sony RX100 VII and the Sony is perfect for those days that I just don't want the weight of my full frame rig. The image quality is excellent, especially for a camera with this small form factor and a 1" sensor. Fits in your pocket and is perfect to carry.....well, all the time. Stop thinking....get it!!
Sony makes good cameras, and no one is going to tell you they can't take good pictures. What's nice about the RX100 is the size - perfect for traveling. I seldom travel with a DSLR unless it's going to be for a couple of weeks.
