There were hundreds of these Thistles growing every where. Every one of them accompanied by Butterflys, Bees and sundry other bugs of all descriptions.

I love Scissortails. They migrated up to Kansas last year and I spent many days focusing on them. One of the most fun birds I know of to photograph. Sure hope they come back again this year.

Thanks, Appy! I didn't know they were migratory, I've only seen them in Texas. Yes, fun and difficult to get photos of these guys, but it pays off when you get a good one!
Not sure what you mean about the molt?? I guess I'm just slow today!
