Brutal designs , harsh square lines and corners.
Plastic looking ... dont look like high quality cameras at all .

Panasonic , Sony , Fuji .. are the worst .
They look ' cheap and nasty ' but are ' Expensive and nasty '

The DSLR so far have kept with good traditional lines ..

The camera is a tool. Looks are meaningless. It has to fit my hands and do the job.

Exactly! While I enjoyed reading the endless back-and-forth debate, I didn't learn anything about appearance that's going to help me to be a better photographer.

But...I remember that my Argus C4 was much easier to handle and use than its boxier predecessor models. And I was just a kid.

The nice thing about an ugly camera is that you don't have to look at it when you're looking through the viewfinder.

I love the appearance (and handling) of my Fuji X-T2. It’s very SLR 35mm to my eyes and hands.

Ok, I clicked and viewed. Not much beauty in his too ten. Another case if "seeing" that depends on organs oyher than the eyes.

Those ten cameras are significant icons of their genres, some are landmarks. To lay eyes on them is to be moved. But that is not beauty, not visually anyway.

I wouldn't buy it because it is ugly (It is.). I would not buy it because BMW has a terrible reliability record.

Yep to me a Jeep Grand Cherokee is beautiful and highly reliable.
To others they hate them.
My 2008 has well over 200k on it but looks brand new and runs like new.
Just change oil and minor maintenance like brakes.

Remember, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don’t think many of us here buy a camera based on its looks.

True but in my eyes all of my Nikons are beautiful.

Its certainly every bit as cool as Arch 1776's Jeep Cherokee. Both look like what they actually are, and are quite cleanly styled.

Seems I just stated my parameters for ugly vs beautiful machinery. That is why I found almost no beauty in the earlier link to "10 most beautiful". All those cameras look very purposeful. But they are not cleanly styled. They can evoke "beautiful memories" but visually they are far from beautiful in and of themselves. They are mostly visually clunky. Some might call that "inner beauty".

Visually, I tend to go with Raymond Loewy. Look him up.

Exactly....most mirrorless cameras look like they were cloned after one another, DSLR cameras had character.

Canon 7D and R5 look very similar.
Same for 1D and R3.
So not sure what you mean.
