Finding Ducks is now part of my morning routine! Yesterday I found Black Ducks and the Black Ducks with the blue wing patches are female and this morning I found a pair of Hooded Megansers.. Their characteristics signs are the white patch on the male's head AND the females' brown crazy hair do!
Winter is a time when I take pictures of the birds at our feeder and perching on the dogwood tree next to my bedroom window. Sadly, the tree is scheduled to be removed this summer. These were taken after Friday night's snow storm.
I first became fascinated with photography when a friend invited me over to see his darkroom, and we watched as the photo appeared on that paper. I was hooked. When my wife gave me my first "35mm" camera, developing and printing in B&W was a lot easier than color. It took a while, but color slides opened my eyes further to things outside the family, and local events. The world is a wonderful and beautiful place waiting to be photographed. So many subjects.... so little time. It would seem that what catches my photographic inspiration is pretty much anything that makes me smile!
