I agree great at the distance &, I guess recommending the new RF1200 wouldn't help then if that is the case. Only getting closer when possible. Nice captures

I would have preferred closer for sure! I don’t think I will be going for the RF1200 at $20k! I about chocked getting the 600mm…

I don't know...maybe if you send me the lens, I would use it for awhile to see if my shots are any better. If so, I'll give it back, if not I'm keeping it for more testing.

To my eye and on my 23" monitors the photos look soft. Prime cause can be camera movement, too large of aperture causing short deep of field, or focus on the wrong point.

I have read that cropping will soften a photo; but there are times there is no better way.

I think the first photo looks ok; but the weeds in front could be considered distracting. In the second photo the forelegs look sharper to me than the head. Camera movement can cause large affects with a long lens like you are using.

Thanks, I will try faster shutter speed, but the ISO had to be so high…. more practice!

I revisited, your shots and realized that I had zoomed in and viewing them at 200%. Most of the shots had good fur detail. They are good.

Maybe it just me, but I think you are being overly critical. Sure there are possible improvements, but these are quite good. Thanks for sharing the set.

I’m always very critical of my stuff! Always want better! However, I’m also not sure I always know what is too much to expect. I see photos others post on Instagram or Fred Miranda and the shots are crazy good and sharp. I wonder how they do it!
