I'm wondering if tightening up picture would help. For example:

Thanks for your suggestion, revhen! I can see that and, in fact, one of my daughters preferred this tightened view. I’m afraid I miss having the red on both sides though.

Not a distraction at all Marg, it’s a fine shot and good luck with the show.

Thanks a bunch, Sylvia!

Which do you prefer?
I see nothing wrong with either.

I believe I like the original better. Having the blues in the diagonal corners and the reds on opposite corners just “feels” more comfortable to me. I do think darkening the blue by a tiny bit will make me happy. Now to figure out how to do that! Lol

I’m considering having this printed at 11x14 to enter a juried show. Do any of you find the bit of blue sky in the top right corner to be distracting? Or does it add needed light to the picture?
Thanks
Marg

Beautifully done, Marg. The blue of the sky fits in with other blue touches in the image; board across the center of the building, in Jeep headlight, etc. Looks like a prize winner to me. 😊

A nice image!!! Marg
If the sky bothers you just crop it out! and maybe the old wrecker bed on the right.

I DID see the sky, and I think I would have noticed it even if I had not read the text first. The question for me is whether I'd want to do anything about it.
And I think I would. There's enough foiliage around to do some decent cloning and take the sky right out, but in doing so you'd highlight the trailer and other junk as well. Clone the lot out. Also, it may be down to different atmospherics out there but the truck looks a little on the red side to me. I'm used to seeing more brown in a well rusted vehicle. But that'd be U.K rust.

In this composition, not an issue at all. Very nice image. Striking!

It is distracting. The eye goes to a light area. Cropping the photo will not hurt the photo and will improve it.

One thing, though. If it’s possible, be sure the bottom of the left front tire isn’t cut off. A little thing, but could help in a juried show.

The very small section of the sky is not a distraction at all.
In fact, it is a very interesting pic as is.
I do Love the patina of the now-retired jeep.
IMHO I would crop much tighter removing the broad expanse of both the plain side of the building (above) and the wrecker to the right.
Maybe my take would just be different and not any better . . .

If it was my image I would crop it without the sky. Another thing I would do is to desaturate the intense red of the truck, easily done with Photoshop or other software using Selective Color and choosing red. A b&w conversion properly done would be nice also.
Just my thoughts.
