This afternoon wrapped up the opening weekend for the local minor league basketball team, the Firebirds. Shot with the Nikon Z9, f2.8, 1/1000 and ISO running from 3200-5000. Looks like this venue will have pretty good lighting. There is a walking/running track above the court so it even gives me a chance to get shots from above.
On a side note - it is fun shooting the games as I can interact with refs, players and assistants. Today one of the players came up to me after coming out of the locker room for second half warmups, shook my hand and complimented me on my photos. We visited a bit and then he got back to work. I chatted with the refs as well, asking them about the training they receive to be able to position themselves directly in front of photographers during peak action. We shared some laughs and went on to wait for the second half to begin. All part of what I enjoy so much about what I do.
Fantastic images Rick - well done!
