My dog was named after him. His original owner was a musician.

Thank You very much. I live in a Condo aptly named Sax. There is a HUGE mural in the entrance lobby of this Musician taken at The Royal Roost in NYC in 1948. I had not made any effort to hear his music, until now, but do enjoy Jazz. Your posts bring quite a bit of enjoymrnt and I appreciate your efforts and sharing. I've included two photos, one I'm sure you'll recognize and one I need help with. Each floor of the building has a smaller mural of different Players. My floor has the individual in photo 1. Can you identify him? Don't bust yourself up if not, I realize there are quite a few Sax players out there of little or no noteriety, but this fellow loks sincere.

Thanks Mark for your updates. You have given me a source of jazz /history I hadn't been aware of. Have been following it for some time now. Love Jazz, in all it's colors! Have a fairly good collection of Cuban and world jazz as well as the 'standards'. The forerunners and Greats of the movement are priceless in their sounds and influences.
Thanks again for your continued enlightement.

Thank you for those very kind comments. Thanks to ripping discs and YouTube.com, I have managed to collect about 50,000 mp3 files of jazz, older pop and classical.
Dizzy played a lot of Cuban jazz. You probably have this one - Afro-Cuban Jazz Moods (75') :https://youtu.be/0c5ef2dexrs

Thanks for the reply! Be well!

Thanks!! About 45 years ago, my wife our kids and I spent a week in Quebec City skiing at Mont St. Anne. It was "freekin" cold, but the skiing was the best we ever had.
Cheers!

Yes, it can get a wee bit chilly up here in the Great White North. We sometimes need to put on pullover to stay warm.
