Well said Dirty Harry! The only time I have to fit someone else's schedule would be a Dr's appointment or something of that nature.

Time is money. Go with the world clock and adjust the local business times to fit in. A business or school can have a winter schedule that is different than the fall or spring, or summer.
Of course since I am retired I do not care what time it is +/- an hour, so I keep clocks set both ways all year round, and live by the sun.

Now you know there will be a ton of people complaining about the schedule shift if they did that!.

"Why can't they keep it the same?"

While I get tired of the endless discussion of this. If each state goes it's own way, life here would be interesting to say the least. We live in a area where we often go to two states and sometimes 3 in one day for appointments. Keeping times correct cetsinly could be done by the computers, but somehow I doubt it would be that simple.

I agree, keep it the same.
But it makes more sense to change some business hours than the time zone.
We have lots of experience with changing business hours after the last three years.

New arrivals to AZ always ask why we don't have DST. I usually tell them to wait until August, then ask me again. Why add another hour of 110F with higher humidity? In northern AZ the Navajo reservation follows DST, while the Hopi reservation, which is surrounded by the Navajo reservation, does not. Meaning, you could drive from Flagstaff to Tuba City, change your clock, then drive 10 or 15 miles, into the Hopi reservation and change the clock back.

Or consider Canada's Newfoundland, 30 minutes ahead of eastern Canada.

Standard time FTW!

Always check the calendar before going for a physical or a visit with your neurologist - they may do a MMSE (Mini-Mental Status Exam) or a MOCA (Montreal Cognitive Assessment - remember Trump so proud to have passed this one....). One point (at least in the MMSE) is given for knowing what day of the week it is. This probably should not be used for retired people - especially since few people get a daily newspaper any more. I remember having the MMSE done one time and when they asked me what season it was - hell - it was Florida and 90 degrees outside - September - I had to think really hard to determine that it was "autumn" - autumn not being a memorable season in Florida..

Oh, such an inconvenience......
The less I have to think, the better.

I feel sorry for the people who live on the edge of one time zone and work in the another.
