VR stands for vibration Reduction which enables one to shoot hand-held at s!ower than usual shutter speeds.

There are two versions - one with VR (vibration reduction) and one that does not have it...this one does not. It shaves off some of the price, if it is a feature you do not need.
I understand that. Are you saying the lens doesn't have VR or the VR doesn't work?

The VR version is FF, non-VR is DX.

There are 2 - DX 70-300mm, one with VR and another one with no VR both for DX cameras. How do I know? because I have had both.
Now, the FF 70-300mm is 4.5-5.6mm, it has metal mount versus de DXs have plastic mounts. I had one of those also.

The 18-55 is a great lens and very inexpensive.

Especially the AF-P, it is really a good lens.
I am selling it because I have duplicate lenses.
