I have used Artbeat Sudios for metal prints up to 30x40.
They have excellent and prompt service at reasonable prices with occasional specials.
Many options too!

Large metal prints are actually less expensive than traditional paper prints since attractively framing a 20x40” paper print can cost several hundred dollars. Same for canvas, btw. My best sellers are usually metal prints, but be aware that the image itself needs to be excellent in order to shine on metal. Flaws are accentuated so use your best work only. Also - I find that for prints smaller than say 16x20, I don’t bother with metal. Metal prints look best to me in large sizes. Bigger “wow” factor,

Fugi Film does the metal prints for Costco and they're great. I've had larger ones done by a company out of Orange County , CA and they are beautiful. Vibrant colors and they last forever. Have had 2 fall off the wall and they got all bent up - but hey - that was my fault.

I've had metals done by both Costco and Fine Art America. I like FAA because they'll print to whatever size the image IS. At Costco, you have to choose from their listed sizes - and sometimes that doesn't fit. I love them. Both are excellent quality, and although I've not had one for 90 years yet, I will say they've hung at outdoor shows for awhile and I see no evidence of fading. I like that they're "washable," for those who live in smoke-filled houses. Costco is now using a "French cleat" hanging method that someone above described. It's easy to do and very nice.

They are expensive. I do them for sale, and the price of the finished pieces can become prohibitive. But they will sell themselves to the right people. I also print on metallic paper, and that's a real sales boon.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has had prints made on metal. I make large prints...up to 40 inches wide...but always on canvas. I'd like to hear your thoughts on metal prints. How good are they and are they worth the price. Thanks.

Big fan of bay photo for metal. I have done about 8 so far and all came out super. I'm sure there are others but they do metal very well. Have one to arrive today that I'm using for a birthday present.

Metal vs canvas is very different. All my canvas' are in the classic rough look. Photos meant to sharp will do well on metal. As for canvas and the canvas look, I have my doubts about metal regardless of the finish.

Agree with you re: the "canvas look" on metal, even with low gloss/matte finish . . . metal lacks the texture of canvas, so the look doesn't translate. Metal is also more expensive than canvas, sometimes significantly so. Hard to beat high gloss metal for sharp, vibrant landscapes, however.

By the way, Black River Imaging, an affiliate of Bay Photo, offers the same quality as Bay with one important advantage: BRI doesn't add shipping costs to the total charge, whereas Bay does. On larger metal prints that can represent a meaningful savings. I 'd recommend checking BRI for your next metal order.

I use Bay Lab. I get metal 18" x 12". The quality of the prints is great. Very sharp with great color rendition. I realy feel the metals are well worth the money.

I highly recommend Blazing Editions in Rhode Island which now prints all of my large pieces for gallery exhibitions. I prefer white, semi-gloss aluminum with flush mount frames. I have printed pieces up to 40x60” and while expensive the quality is unequalled. They specialize in producing work shot by pros for gallery exhibitions. If you want the best, check them out.

I have done many prints on metal and they came out excellent! My clients have loved them as they have a different look to them hanging in the wall.

I'd mirror the thoughts that others have voiced about the excellent color pop on metal for appropriate images. I do think that consumers like metal prints better than paper prints in most cases, the color attracts them. I just got five metal prints done by Bay photo, all 12 x 18, and they turned out great. I have not yet done anything on canvas but do have a shot in mind that might work well on canvas as sharpness for the shot is not a factor. Not every image works well on either canvas or metal so give some thought to the specific image on whatever medium you choose.

I've had 5 done. Largest being 24" x 36". Was very happy with the results but definitely prefer the Matte finish. I use 'Aluminyze'. If I recall, the most I spent for the largest was about $250.0. They usually always have sales and discounts if you can wait for the right opportunity

I have only had one image printed on metal. It was of a rich red mineral/water flow at Yellowstone. I think the print was 20 x 30 or close to these dimensions. It came out great. I think I used Bay Photo for the printing as a new customer, they offered a nice discount of the first order.

They look great. I make them often. Much nicer than canvas. Sharper, vibrant, archival, etc.

I have had over 75 prints done for me so far , with five more being shipped to me right now . I only use Bay Photo in Santa Cruz California. The most common size I use is 16x20 . They have GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and are fast and reliable. Their metal prints are available with several finishes from high gloss to satin. Some of my metal prints have been hanging outdoors without any worries about weather conditions for several years ( probably not recommend by Bay Photo) . Non of these exposed images show any fading or wear.
