I strongly agree with you! If I were fifty years younger I might have liked it. What was just as bad as the performance was that the whole half time show was devoted to hip hop and rap. It would have been a lot better had maybe had a few minutes of hip hop, etc, like maybe a couple of numbers of pop and country.
I don't watch the NFL at all…sticking to college football…but back when we occasionally watched it the only reason to watch the Superb Owl as fark.com calls it was the commercials and we definitely skipped the "music" at halftime as it's not really music anyway. Now that all the commercials are on the internet…there's not even a reason to watch the game at all.
I distinctly remember the first time I heard Rap "music". I thought it was disgusting and still do particularly when accompanied with lewd dancing, filthy "lyrics" and crotch grabbing. I am saddened that this is a reflection of our youth and values as a nation.
I watched all the playoffs, but to me the superbowl has become all about the show. Like the last time I went to the circus, all show, might as well go to Vegas and they still had animals then.
I quit the Olympics when it got to the point that the real winners wouldn't be known until after years of testing.
I agree totally that it sucked...

Why would anyone think you would like it. It was black, you are white. It was younger, you are not. It would never appeal to you.
That’s a ridiculous statement. Some might have felt that these 25-30 year old selections may have lost their relevance today. Not one of those entertainers would have achieved their level of success without white consumers. Why does everything need to be reduced to racial motivations?

Although it offered a supposedly stellar lineup, I wasn't overly impressed by the half time "music." I can somewhat appreciate Rap and Hip Hop but the performances all seemed to consist of the usual dark narratives, offered with an uninteresting, pounding orchestral beat, "sung" by performers who expressed their emotion by grabbing their crotch every few seconds while surrounded by dancers twerking, grinding and making lewd contortions.
I was, however, impressed by the '60's Impala convertibles parked in the front.

My sentiments, completely, fourlocks! Just a few minutes into the half time show, we decided its a good time to get away from the TV and have dinner and some embibements. Time much better spent ; in my humble opinion! 😏😏😏.
I saw the first several minutes. It was so bad I turned it off.
I turned the station for half time - not my cup of tea!
Yes, the Chevy was great, the very car that I and my friends all yearned for in High School.
The rest of the show stunk. Why do they like to exhibit stupidity.
I thought it was total crap.
