I thought this was funny but true. It has happened to my wife and me numerous times when we have dined out.
Just when you have a bite of food in your mouth, the server will come over and ask if everything is OK!

Well, looking at the waiter and replying with a mouthful of food does (eventually) get the idea across!
On the other hand, try timing that question while a customer is gobbling down their meal!

The McDonalds I go to doesn’t have waiters.
I always signal for the server to wait until I have completely chewed and swallowed my mouthful, like I have something very important to share. Then I reply "Everything is great." They get the message.
