Ice Mountain
This is an old Photo I took when I first moved here to Fox. A manmade mountain built with a sprinkler system that pumped water out of a pond right next to it. It was right across the road where the Pipeline View is North of Fairbanks. Its a gold panning place now and the ice mountain melted that next summer, forget what year. The Gold Dredge #8 is close by. People were on it one day climbing to the top when I drove by and saw them and snapped this picture. It was quite the tourist sight that summer, all kinds of people pulling off the road to take a look. Was probably about 100 ft high, was digging through my pics and found it.
Nice photo. Like the people climbing for it adds a greater dimension to the photo. Mahalo for sharing.
Hard to find a close place to practice ice climbing
Oh, that’s ice! It looked just like my mom’s truck did after a winter of her peacocks roosting over it.

If you upload a relatively large image file and click "store original" we are able to expand the photo to see more detail. This image is too small to really appreciate - are those people on this? I can't tell - if so, it would really help to see the image larger to appreciate the subject, which of course would make it that much more interesting.
This is a scan of an old film photo , couldn't get it to download on here. Sorry you don't appreciate it, can't please all gripers.
