From what I've read about this substance, it is not meant for humans. You may wish to consider consulting the statements of informed medical experts on this subject.

I think modern blues musicians cover this with:

"Cocaine for horses, it's not for men,
They say it will kill you
but they won't say when.
Cocaine, all round my brain".

We used to pick this up (for our horse) at the local Rural King. They had taken it off the shelf for a while and would only sell to people who could prove they owned a horse.

I don't believe there are any health benefits for humans in it, and believe me when I saw that the taste is enough for me to risk COVID rather that use it to combat the virus. Even the horse pitches a fit when we give it to him...

Well, you may be interested to know that:
Ivermectin was approved for human use in 1987.
The doctors who discovered Ivermectin won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for its successful use in humans to treat several devastating tropical diseases, including river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis, as well as to treat less severe conditions such as head lice and scabies.
Ivermectin is also used in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic diseases.

The problem with this is the stupid humans who dose themselves with a medicine in a form designed for a horse.
Horses are much larger than humans and so are the doses. And whatever else they may have added to it (suitable for a horse). Ivermectin is used BOTH as a horse and a human medicine but in hugely different strengths. For human use it has been used probably up in the quantities of billions and with much much less side affects than aspirin. So anybody who talks about Ivermectin being a horse parasite drug only has very obviously been doing yet again selective reading to provide for their own narrative.
Whether it can help with covid in some way is probably still open to debate and I am not doing that here. I note that Michael1709 must be a medical researcher as he has given us an opinion on this.

This was directed at readers who can recognize the humor in it. There's no mention of the "Horse dewormer" being used by humans, the "joke" is that no HORSES got sick! (can't believe I needed to explain this)!

After several years on this forum I can easily believe that you might have to explain it.

The second I read it I thought that's quite good (joke). But like you, and the OP, I just knew this would drag those who can't read and are lacking in humour out of the wardrobe.

Be that as it may....Ivermectin has NOT been proven as an effective treatment for COVID-19.

You need to stop reading from those sources. I have two prescription medications (yes, for HUMANS) in my home right now that contain Ivermectin.

I guess you won't have to worry about getting Covid then..... After all horses don't catch it.

I know, actually it's really sad. I don't understand what the world's coming to! I'm glad that I "grew up" during a time where "common sense" prevailed, and grown-ups were not afraid to speak their minds. Honestly, I feel so sad for the kids today. My grandson is a baby right now, but as soon as he's able to think and speak for himself, surely he'll be terrified to open his mouth. What kind of world are we leaving for our kids!

Just an aside. Just watched a clip (TV News) in which a doctor who was watching a movie in his Tesla almost mowed down a deputy and a state trooper as he ran off the road and down the side of it. (It was August of 2021.)

Maybe there can be some protection from the *common* sense we are seeing out there. Perhaps something that may chemically sharpen mental capabilities.

By the way, horse liniment will not make a human intellectually smart. That is also an old corny joke.
