I should shut off the computer at noon, but I keep browsing. There is a nice Nikon P900 for sale by jdtonkinson in the Members Buy/Sell/Trade.

That got me looking on eBay. I didn't want to spend hundreds, but someone was advertising a new, open box, Nikon P500 for $116. How could I resist? If it was even $150, I would have passed right by, but for a relatively small amount (It was $400 new), I couldn't resist. It should arrive next week, and I'll take pictures of my picture taker.

You're ignorance is amazing.

"Forbes is remembered. He is remembered as the man who coined the phrase, “He who dies with the most toys wins.” That was the wisdom of Malcolm Forbes. In fact, that was his ambition. That’s why he collected scores of motorcycles. That’s why he would pay over a million dollars for a Faberge egg. That’s why he owned castles, hot air balloons and countless other toys that he can no longer access."

I'm not familiar with Nikon - so I had a look at Photozine's original P500 review - their summary said :
"The camera is excellent at producing well exposed images with colours nicely reproduced. At both ends of the lens the images produced are sharp". This is with a 36x zoom - you have a fantastic buy at a bargain price.
Would love to see some shots in the fullness of time. Happy shooting. Del.

That camera was reviewed by dpreview exactly 11 years ago TODAY! The zoom is from a wide 22mm equivalent all the way up to 810mm equivalent, great for bringing in those tiny songbirds at the feeder etc. Have fun with it!
