Well, you may be interested to know that:
Ivermectin was approved for human use in 1987.
The doctors who discovered Ivermectin won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for its successful use in humans to treat several devastating tropical diseases, including river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis, as well as to treat less severe conditions such as head lice and scabies.
Ivermectin is also used in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic diseases.

It's been shown to be highly effective in South America, India and Africa. Just not profitable in the US and Europe. It's all about the money!
There are many meds on the world market used for animals AND humans.

Equine "Flu" is caused by an influenza virus, where as Equine Coronavirus is caused by ... a coronavirus. They are not the same disease.
From my reading, Equine Coronavirus is treated symptomatically as no there are no medications which have been found to treat the virus. Supportive care might include medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
Ah - I thought flu was a Corona virus, thanks for putting me right

The widespread misinformation regarding fake treatments for the coronavirus justifies clarity in response, even to the posts of jokesters.
Well, then start your own thread instead of hijacking mine and changing the tone of what was just supposed to be a Monday morning JOKE!

The use of "horse dewormer" to treat anything is not recommended. First of all, although ivermectin is a component of some horse dewormer pharmacological substances, they are not necessarily the same thing. Second, medicines are usually prescribed based on the severity of the problem AND the mass of the patient, so for an equivalent disease, the horse would take much more of a dose than a human would (most of us weigh less than the average horse). Third, there's a reason that some medicines are available by prescription from a physician. The physician is aware of the effects of the medicine and can calculate the dosage required for the desired effect, and knows the side effects that might exacerbate the problem or create other problems. Self-medication is not a good idea.
And, yes, I read and understood the original post as a joke. This post is directed toward the other 2+ pages of posts.

LOL! thanks for your support Frank, and thankfully you are firmly NOT in the category that don't seem to understand humor! I just hope I brought a smile to the faces of those who appreciate it. Stay safe and have a great day.
Ray.
I would just like to add this additional observation that I made recently, in the same vien as the original thread. The discussion goes something like this...
"it's been suggested that eating carrots is beneficial for good eyesight"
... "really. And do you have any proof to back up that assumption"?
... "seems obvious to me. You NEVER see a bunny rabbit wearing spectacles"!
Hope some of you laughed a little! (and for the few, that just want to start arguments/make it political /bitch and moan, etc), please don't bother, it really is, just another JOKE. thanks for reading guys, stay safe and have a great day.
Ray.

Hate when you have to explain a joke to someone. That’s what is happening throughout our country, people are loosing their sense of humor.
LIGHTEN UP FOLKS.

I've been seeing a lot of people advocate for the horse de-wormer ivermectin as a defense against the covid19 virus, and I've come to the conclusion that they could well be correct. After doing some research of my own, I've discovered that there is not a single case of a horse dying, or even getting sick from covid 19 after being "de-wormed". That must be the proof that it works! What do you think?
Ray.
Good news for horses. Do you have any reference telling Covid 19 patients cured with Ivermectin?
ha ha too funny, before you pass judgement make sure you do your research and know that there are people it has helped in fact saved a few lives...because I have a friend who was treated with it when COVID first started and it helped him turn the corner...so when you criticize make SURE

I am only responding to the original poster here...I have not read the following chatter.
There has been a very intense misinformation campaign going on in the US and abroad.
Some will say it's not meant for humans...
This is nonsense. It's been used for decades worldwide by humans...no problems.
India was a hot bed of Covid...they basically knocked Covid out exclusively with Ivermectin...
One would think that would be shouted from the rooftops by the US media and govt.
No...we get the exact opposite...they push only the vaccines...which don't seem to work as vaccines.
Ivermectin ...works.
That's the science of it...period.
Anything else is politics...
I can't believe you needed to explain it either. WOW!
