I haven't heard about any new release of the APS-C in E mount lately. Which model is the latest and when it was released?
Checking the link (I am not sure) the latest was the A6600 which was introduced in Sept 2019. More than 3 years ago. Sony introduced several full frame cameras since then. I think it makes sense.
Yes, most of us wildlife/birders using cheaper/smaller lenses are waiting for someone to make a pro level and hopefully affordable mirror less APSC camera ......

Sony announced that there are already more than enuf bird and wildlife pix on file such that no more need be added. Therefor Sony designers are no longer compromising other design concerns to facilitate bird and wildlife photography.

Sony started the E mount cameras with APS-C and that's fine. What I think not a good move by Nikon by introduce APS-C in Z mount.
Nikon just needs to complete the APSC idea with a pro version - then they will have what no one else has !.
Yes, Sony started with APSC and then made a full frame camera based around the (same small) lens mount for APSC ! As I recall, even smaller than the Nikon F mount that crippled Nikon for sooo long !

The a6600 can be used professionally. I use it professionally all the time. One of the best auto focus I’ve ever used. It tracks subjects very well. The price is very reasonable for all of the features it has.
Wasn't the so-called 'v-loggers' camera Sony introduced built on an APS C sensor? And I understand it has still photo capability.

The a6400 and a6600 are the current models, but both are at least three years old. The big question is whether Sony will still invest in APS-C or focus on full-frame exclusively. There are rumors that Sony is working on a high-end APS-C camera, but they are just rumors.
There may be one more...maybe.
It's all baked into their FF cakes now.
Dedicated systems like crop are becoming redundant...

I think so! I am really surprised that Nikon would go into the APS-C stuff for their Z. Sony started with APS-C for their E mount but I think they are moving away from it.
