The Tanker will be loads of fun watching as it returns to life.

When I looked at your photos of the brakes, what came to mind was ear plugs, lots of penetrating oil and a hand held sledge hammer-air hammer at times. Did that old truck run on leaded gasoline?

No air hammer, no sledge hammer, penetrating oil A torch. a small pry bar and a 8oz short handled hammer ,Took about 20 mins to remove both start wheel adjusters. !969? yep leaded gasoline and later in its life unleaded.
Now the right front was another story. Will remove the adjusters Monday as well as tear down the right rear wheel.

I will most likely never see the final outcome of the vehicle, once the mechanical work is done it will go to auction, there are people that want the old rusty and faded paint look, why? is beyond me.

That is a rare and collectible truck. Try the ATHS.ORG bunch for help selling it.

Thank you very much.
Selling is my Son inlaws job, its his truck
He knows it's collectible, personally I wouldn't have hauled it home, unless I could use it

A 440 with a 2bbl carb. Almost sacrilege, even in a work truck.

This was my life for 46 years. Still have a very cool shop but loosing the desire to do that stuff. Trying to figure out a very blown disc right now. No doubt related to all those years of HD wrenching. Have fun and don’t forget to charge what you are worth. But you know that!

Sorry, I thought I read 440ci somewhere in the narrative.

I misread the Dodge Coronet 440 in the first line of your posts. My bad.

That's a nice project. Trucks are generally tougher than cars, so restoration might have fewer problems. Have fun!

I guess disk brakes and fuel injection aren't on your list. : )

Do you ever watch Wheeler Dealers?

LOL
I do some occasional work for a local speed shop and that's what they told me about my '70 El Camino. But when it came down to making it go away - all those folks who wanted that nice patina were away as well. At least it is not taking up garbage space which makes one of the two of us happy - read that as the Mrs.

(I get the feeling you will enjoy what you do, do before it goes to auction. Everyone needs something to do!

You guess right!! No F/I

Nope, I do watch Counting Cars a bit, they turn out some fantastic vehicles.
I would watch it more if it weren't for all silly B/S, as with a few other odd the same type of shows.
