The good news is that the Canon EOS R3 nailed the "animal eye autofocus" and kept it, so the bird is basically in focus. The bad news is that it was a heavy overcast day with minimal light and a fixed aperture ƒ11 lens. Manual mode with auto ISO, camera set the ISO to 12,800. Fun photo, but a lot of noise.
