I upgraded to the D850 specifically for focus stacking, and I've found HeliconFocus a pretty good solution. I have an associate, however, who much prefers Zerene. I'd recommend checking out both of them.

Then Adobe will not accommodate you. They changed their business model to subscription only. You can't even find their older standalone products for sale legally, and if you have one already installed, you may already find that it is not compatible with the RAW files produced by newer cameras. You have to suck it up and give in or look for alternative products.

You're probably better off then. PS does not do focus stacking very well, slow and poor quality. Zerene and Helicon are much better for about a hundred bucks.

Agreed. They are great and the focus stacking was pretty easy for this non photoshop person. 😊
